NYC has some of the best food and restaurants in the entire world! There are so many great options, but this is a list of some of my favorite restaurants in the city.
Pizza
Before I even get into restaurants, I have to talk about pizza. There is NOTHING like a NYC plain pie. ๐ Pizza outside NYC just isn’t the same. So if you are going to NYC, getting a plain pie, or even just a plain slice needs to be on your list. There are so many amazing places, you really can’t go wrong. Well.. maybe the dollar slice places, maybe avoid those. ๐คฃ
Bagels
You also can’t miss getting a bagel in NYC. Again, no where else does bagels like New York. Well, on second thought, maybe New Jersey. ๐ Getting a bagel is something else you absolutely must do. There are bagel shops everywhere and if there’s a long line, that’s how you know you’re at the right place. An everything toasted with cream cheese is a classic order and so is a bacon, egg, and cheese.
Starbucks Reserve
After all this talk about bagels, now onto the coffee! There are so many incredible cafes in the city to try, and one pretty unique place is the Starbucks Reserve store. It’s basically just a fancy Starbucks, and it’s an interesting place to check out if you’re into coffee.
City Vineyard
City Vineyard is an awesome restaurant on the Hudson River with great views of the city.
Grand Banks
This is an actual boat that’s just sitting at a dock on the Hudson. It also has amazing views and is definitely worth checking out.
Central Park Boathouse
This is a restaurant on one of the lakes in Central Park. It’s also a very popular wedding venue, so you might spot a bride!
La Grande Boucherie
If you’re looking for a spot close to Broadway, this is it! It’s 2 blocks from Radio City Music Hall, so if you’re going to the theater (which if you’re visiting NYC, obviously you are ๐), La Grande Boucherie is steps away. Speaking of theater.. if you want to see all the best broadway shows, check out this guide here.
The Frying Pan
The Frying Pan is another restaurant on the water and it’s more casual than Grand Banks and City Vineyard. It’s basically a bar on the pier.
Eataly Flatiron
Eataly is a giant Italian market and there’s a rooftop restaurant at the Flatiron location called Serra by Birreria. It’s always really nicely decorated and is covered in sparkly lights during the holidays!
Catch
OK, now we’re getting to the fancy places. Catch is a very nice restaurant, and also pretty much a club. If you’re having a GNO (Girl’s Night Out), Catch is a fun place to go.
Carbone
Carbone is another VERY fancy place. Great for date night!
Maison Pickle
Maison Pickle is another great spot. You could eat here for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
Magnolia Bakery
Now for the best bakery! My personal favorite is Magnolia bakery. The cupcakes, the banana pudding, you have to try this place.
