This post has all of my recommendations for Key West, Florida! Before I even begin, let me set the scene here. Key West is a party. 🤣 Like if you go here, expect spring breakers, bachelor parties, bachelorette parties, like this place is a fun time. It’s beautiful, but you need to know before you even get there, that it’s a party. 😄
Map
First, let’s get our bearings. 🤣 Here’s where Key West is on a map. ⬇️ It’s about a 4 hour drive south from Miami.
Getting There
If you’re flying in, you’re going to want to fly into Key West International Airport (EYW). From there, it is a short Uber ride to your hotel.
Best Hotels
Ocean Key Resort
The hotel we stayed at was The Ocean Key Resort. The only thing to be aware of with this hotel is that it doesn’t have a beach where you can go swimming, it just has a pool. You would need to drive to a beach if you wanted to go. Other hotels that I would recommend staying at that do have a beach are the Casa Marina or the Sunset Key Cottages.

Best Things To Do
Private Boat Ride
One thing that you HAVE to do if you go to Key West, is do a private boat tour. There are a ton of companies that do tours, and we used Island Time Charters. Boat tours can bring you to islands, sand bars, you can go snorkeling, you can see dolphins, it is the thing to do when visiting Key West. I definitely recommend prioritizing this for your trip, and I’ll put some photos from our boat tour here ⬇️
Duval Street
Duval street is the Main Street downtown that has all of the stores and bars. There’s A LOT of action goin on at all times on Duval street. 😄
Southernmost Point
Southernmost point is a monument that marks the southern most point of the United States. It’s a very touristy spot but worth walking by.
Sunset Pier
Sunset pier is a bar at the hotel that we stayed at, The Ocean Key Resort. It has seating right in front of the ocean and is the perfect spot to catch the sunset. Has to be one of the best views in town!
Dry Tortugas National Park
We actually didn’t have time for this during our trip, but if we had one more day we definitely would have gone here. It’s a national park 70 miles west of Key West, and you can take a ferry there. The ferry is about 2.5 hours each way, so it’s definitely a full day trip.
Best Restaurants
Hot Tin Roof
We had dinner at Hot Tin Roof one night which was great. Then the next night we ate at Prime Steakhouse.
Prime Steakhouse
Wild Chickens
A random thing to know about is to be prepared to see wild chickens walking around everywhere. 🤣 It was very unexpected, and very cute.
